Diabetes Is The Shame of Modern Medicine

Would you believe that diabetes is one of the most curable diseases around? Diabetes is easy to prevent, easy to cure and treat (in laboratory animals and probably in humans) so you can avoid all of the terrible side effects (i.e. blindness, hypertension, amputations, early death, etc). Since 1958, it has been known that supplemental chromium will prevent and treat diabetes as well as hypoglycemia. Just ask any health food store owner or N.D.[Naturopathic Doctor]! Walter Mertz (the director of U.S.D.A. field services) published the facts associated with chromium and diabetes in the Federation Proceedings. One of my brothers, who had diabetes, followed Dr. Wallach’s protocol and now he no longer has diabetes. I know a lady who I told about vegetable juicing. She was obese and had diabetes. So she began to juice vegetables almost every day and made some changes to her diet. She primarily juiced organic cabbage, cucumbers, green apples, and spinach. She lost 70 pounds in less than a year’s time and no longer has diabetes.

Breakthroughs In Nutrition Science Could Bring Relief To Diabetes Sufferers!

If you have diabetes or are at high risk for this disease, there is great news. Researchers have found that a couple of simple supplements may help millions of sufferers of Type II diabetes. There are an estimated 15 million diabetics in the US and another 40-50 million Americans who are in the high risk category. Most people who have diabetes in this country have the Type II form of this disease. Those unfamiliar with this illness, think of diabetes as the sugar disease that only requires those afflicted to occasionally shoot up with insulin. However, the reality is that 75% of the people who have diabetes die from some type of cardio-vascular disease. Other serious complications from diabetes include poor circulation, blindness, kidney failure, and gangrene.

Just What Is Diabetes?

Diabetes is a chronic disease which stems from either non-production of insulin by the pancreas (Type I diabetes), or is a result of the inefficient use of insulin by the body (Type II diabetes). To understand just how insulin works in the body you must first understand that your body must ultimately convert the foods you consume into sugar (glucose), which then becomes fuel for the cells within your body. Your blood carries glucose to cells throughout your body. The role of insulin, which is produced by the pancreas, is to unlock or open the door to the cells in your body to allow glucose to be utilized by those cells.

If your body cannot manufacture insulin or is inefficient in producing it, glucose remains in the bloodstream where it clings to blood vessels like glue, causing damage to organs–the eyes, heart, limbs, etc. Eventually, this glucose that never gets utilized is eliminated in the urine, leaving the body starving for fuel because this sugar (fuel) never enters the cells as intended. That’s why three of the chief symptoms of diabetes are food cravings, obesity (you eat more to compensate for what your body needs–glucose), and frequent urination.

HFCS, Sweet Poison

Virtually all nutritionists have implicated high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) as a major enemy in diabetes and obesity. HFCS is an inexpensive sweetener that began flooding the market in the 1980s. Incidentally, that’s when obesity and diabetes rates really began to skyrocket. You see, our bodies simply can not handle this dangerous sweetener.

HFCS forces our bodies to store more fat and at the same time tricks it into wanting more to eat. What a treacherous combination. And the worse part of it is that it is everywhere, including in foods you would not normally think of. It’s in soda pop, pasta, breakfast cereal, yogurt, bread, muffins, applesauce, cookies, cookie dough, ketchup, Vitamin Water, Gatorade, and the list goes on and on. It is estimated that over 40% of the foods in the supermarket contain HFCS.

In addition to being a cheap sweetener, HFCS is an excellent preservative; it prevents freezer burn; and it keeps bread soft and aids in the browning of bread. No wonder it is a food manufacturer’s dream. However, what’s good for commercial food processors presents a nightmare for those of us trying to lose weight and stay healthy. Here are some of its major downsides:

  • It increases appetite which leads to higher caloric intake and weight gain.
  • It is made from genetically modified corn.
  • It is an unnatural food.
  • It increases the risk of colo-rectal cancer in women ( according to a study published in the Journal of The National Cancer Institute.
  • It is addictive.
  • It causes a massive spike in your insulin levels which in turn causes an almost immediate slow down in your metabolism. Thus, the body stops burning fat and starts storing it.

With all this baggage, HFCS is one food additive that you must avoid at all costs.

If you want lose weight, lick diabetes and be your healthiest, the first thing you must do is to start reading food labels and stop buying products that contain this ingredient. Secondly, you must start cooking at home more. I’m sorry, but that’s the only way you will be able to truly control what goes into your body. Even most restaurants serve foods and condiments which contain HFCS.

Chromium and Vanadium, The Cure For What Ails You?

Recent studies have concluded that diabetes is largely the result of a poor diet and mineral deficiencies of chromium and vanadium. New evidence shows that by supplementing with chromium and vanadium Type II diabetes may be controlled. As far back as 1957, it was shown in rat studies that the use of chromium could prevent and in many cases cure Type II diabetes. Later, in 1985, a study by the University of Vancouver, British Columbia, showed that vanadium alone could replace prescription drugs in patients with Type II diabetes. More recently, a monumental double-blind study performed in 1997 by the USDA, found that diabetics taking 1,000 mcg of chromium picolinate daily were able to drop their blood hemoglobin A (the most sensitive measure of diabetic control) to near normal levels. In addition, this study clearly showed that chromium lowers blood sugar. Finally, people in this study who took this supplement also lost weight–without even changing their eating habits!

A Protocol For Fighting Diabetes?

Researchers recommend beginning with a daily intake of 250 micrograms of chromium GTF (glucose tolerance factor) and 250 micrograms of vanadium to prevent insulin shock. You can adjust your insulin dose or other medication based on the effectiveness of these two minerals.

In addition to chromium and vanadium Dr. Joel Wallach recommends the following supplements:

Zinc Orotate at 50 mg twice a day.

Vitamin B-12 at 1,000 mcg a day.

Quercetin at 150 mg a day.

Copper sulfate at 2-3 mg a day

Also, I recommend that you increase your intake of magnesium chloride. The best way to do this is by drinking magnesium bicarbonate water. You can buy it as a concentrate for about $80. That may sound like a lot of money, but it is your life we are talking about. And you only have to buy it until your diabetes is cured, which shouldn’t be long if you follow this protocol. One quart of Magicarb makes up to 32 gallons of water. I don’t get any kickbacks from this product so try it like I do and see if it helps you. This water will help your diabetes, hypertension, and kidneys.

In addition to magnesium bicarbonate water, start drinking at least 1 to 3 glasses of filtered water with baking soda. Put one teaspoon of baking soda (bicarbonate of soda, not baking powder) into an 8 ounce glass of water and stir well. This treatment alone can prevent cancer and other diseases. Bicarbonate of soda is very alkaline and will raise your body’s pH. Diseases cannot survive in an alkaline environment. The reason we get many diseases is because our bodies are too acidic.
